Ryan Wright emerged from 3 years of inconsistency to have a big year in 2025. And he cashes in ... with the Saints. Will Reichard will have a new holder this season.

The holder thing might be a bigger issue. I wanted to replace him last year and he went and had a solid season. Might be a good year to use a late pick on a punter and hope we strike gold like we did with the Babyfaced Assassin.

didnt we have a kid in camp last year that kicked the crap out of the ball, but was released to keep Wright in order to no mess up the chemistry with Reichard?

Yeah, I think he was some Aussie style kicker with the funky drop kick punting. And Wright proved himself last year, so it was the right move keeping him over that guy.

it was a good move to stay with Wright, but now he's gone so Im wondering if that kid is still available, IIRC he bombed some kicks, good hang time too. maybe he can learn to hold better with another off season?

Vikings and Dolphins both get extensions done with their punters
After making just $1.45 million in 2025, Ryan Wright will be getting a hefty raise this year. The Vikings punter has agreed to a four-year, $14 million deal that includes $8 million in guaranteed money. At $3.5 million per year, Wright is now the fifth-highest paid punter in the NFL.
In Miami, Jake Bailey will be signing a three-year, $9 million extension with the Dolphins.
