Madden Movie - MaroonBells - 12-26-2025

RE: Madden Movie - purplefaithful - 12-26-2025

Lol, great cast!!

I had a grudge (big grudge) against Madden for years after that last SB. But time has a way of healing and providing proper perspective.

I grew to appreciate him a bunch on TV anyhow.

This is one I am looking forward to (R. Crowe as Goring at Nuremberg) with Rami Malek as the American Psychiatrist assigned to him....

Bale looks perfect as Davis, but just don't see Cage as Madden and the Pat Summerall character looks odd, the two of them together look like it is made up and not real characters. Was curious if Cage gained weight for role, but he didn't it is all makeup and a body suit.

Frank Caliendo should play the part of Madden.

We just watched Nurenburg last night.
Incredible evil.  Russell Crowe and Rami Malek should get a nod with an Oscar nomination...both were exceptional.
So many lines in the movie echoed in current American times, sadly.

As they say, history does not repeat itself.
But it rhymes.

I'm waiting for the rental price to go down just a bit, but really looking forward to watching this. Michael Shannon is a fave too.

We were fortunate to have so many iconic announcers during our era....

College and Pro ball..This is just a list from AI, I'm sure there are some missing. Gary Daniels is one I like a bunch too.

Baseball:
Vin Scully: The voice of the Dodgers for decades, known for his smooth, poetic storytelling.
Harry Caray: Beloved Cubs broadcaster famous for his "Cubs, Cubs, Cubs!" and singing "Take Me Out to the Ball Game".

Football:
Al Michaels: Famous for "Do you believe in miracles? Yes!" (Miracle on Ice) and "I don't believe what I just saw!" (The Catch).
Pat Summerall & John Madden: The definitive NFL duo; Summerall's calm voice paired with Madden's enthusiastic analysis.
Howard Cosell: A polarizing but influential figure, known for his distinctive voice and commentary on Monday Night Football and boxing.
Keith Jackson: The iconic voice of college football, known for phrases like "Whoa, Nellie!".

Basketball:
Marv Albert: The "Voice of the NBA," known for his signature "Yessss!" during big plays.
Chick Hearn: The legendary voice of the Los Angeles Lakers for over 30 years, inventing many basketball terms.

Hockey:
Doc Emrick: Celebrated for his extensive vocabulary and passionate calls in the NH

Finally watched Nuremberg with my son on Sunday. Both of us absolutely loved this movie.

If you’re a history buff, or even just someone who’s sick of all the superheroes and sequels churned out by Hollywood, you might like this one. Love that it dares to explore the blurry space between good and evil.
