Potential trade candidates - supafreak84 - 12-26-2025

I know we've discussed Addison a bunch, but I think another possibility that's a tradable asset would be Jonathan Greenard. I think it's clear that Van Ginkel is the more important player and Dallas Turner continues to get better and better. Greenard is 28, under a reasonable contract for two more seasons, and has been a pro bowl caliber player. It's always nice to have pass rushers in waves, but it hasn't worked out that way in the two years we've had AVG, Turner and Greenard. I think depending on the trade return, I'd be open to moving Greenard in a trade and moving forward with Dallas Turner in 2026.

Any trade is possible, depending on what kind of compensation the Vikings will receive.  If it's a big haul, hell why not?

Agree that the Vikings could move on from Greenard this offseason. Not sure if that will be a trade or a release, but it's time to give the job to Turner. I'd add TJ Hockenson to the potential trade list too.

I think those guys are far more likely to be traded this offseason than Addison. Addison's eligible for an extension after this season, but the Vikings don't HAVE TO do anything for another year. And they could even give him the 5th year option, keeping him in Minnesota through the 2027 season. There are a lot of moving parts with that contract (already paying Jefferson, Addison's character issues, the QB problem) that the Vikings are probably going to want to run the clock out on that one.

Is Kwesi involved? I can predict the outcome with 90% certainty

Well, and henceforth lies the problem in any potential trade discussion is do your trust the powers in charge to maximize any compensation received in said trade? I think for most of us that answer is a resounding "No" which is a huge problem in itself. It makes any potential trade far less appealing

And I would guess trade compensation would net a similar return for both Addison and Greenard. Probably a 2nd round pick along with a later round pick or player. If you have a GM you trust to maximize those picks, you certainly feel better about it
