RIP Meathead - JimmyinSD - 12-15-2025
Rob Reiner and wife were found murdered yesterday, reportedly by their son.
While I didnt agree with him at all politically, he was a hollywood legend and his contributions to entertainment will be missed.

Shit like this is a tragedy. Full stop. Prayers to him and his family. It sounds like the son was a very troubled young man.

Yah, I heard the rumblings out of Brentwood late last night...My kid lives in LA (Silverlake). Sad, sad, sad...Sounds like the kid had addiction issues on top of god knows what else.
May they both RIP and thx for the entertainment meathead. Say hi to Archie and Edith.
Lets not forget about the Brown University victims and the work still underway there to find a perp (s)

I'm worried that they've already bungled that investigation beyond repair. Just a gut feel from the pressers and who's talking and who's not. The killer doesn’t seem to fit the prototype Brown would like him to.

I think its a matter of when, not if they get the Brown assassin.
The political temp is still to high in this country. And (like his predecessors) Trump has decided to prioritize airing personal grievances over being a spokesperson for the entire country.
I sure hope we get a uniter in the White House in 28.

Yep...Trump needs to learn to STFU. I get it...Reiner was a huge Russia, Russia, Russia hoaxer during Trump's first term and called for Trump to be tried for Treason as a Russian asset up to the full extent of the law (which is death btw). Not sure you can legitimately ask Trump to send out a message of unity under those circumstances but you can ask that he follow my mother's sage advice...if you can't say something nice about someone, don't say anything. It was good to see many Republicans condemn Trump for his comments.

I don’t. No Republican president will ever be allowed to be a uniter. Remember when Mitt Romney ran and he was Hitler too and wanted to kill poor people. There is no candidate at this point that will unite this country. When half of Democrats prefer socialism to capitalism I don’t want a unifier. I only hope Vance wins and the rhetoric goes down a little, but I doubt it. Republicans take losing better, but if that happens, this country is sunk.

They've identified the shooter and have a warrant out. Could be linked to the killing of the MIT professor as well.

Well as bumbling of a job as the school and its security did, they got the guy. It is simply outlandish that there was no video of him going in or out of that school. If the guy doesn't go on to commit another murder and hang around the area making himself obvious numerous times both the day of and in the days before the killing, he could have skated free. Not sure of his religion, but he was not a US citizen but held a green card in a program Trump has railed against for some time and is now being suspended by Noem.
I am figuring out not to believe ANY of the information that comes out in the earliest stages of these investigations nowadays. You think of the last few of these and the way the story has dramatically changed from start to finish and realize most of the reporting is coming out factually incorrect. The Public was supposedly "Not In Danger", the WI traveler that was hauled in, the denial that there was any linkage to the MIT professor killing. I think this is due to agendas, ideologies, unvetted press info, and inexperienced local police depts not having their ducks in a row as things unravel.
