College football takes - StickierBuns - 10-05-2025 An interesting Saturday for sure in the ol' CFB scene.
RE: College football takes - MaroonBells - 10-05-2025 If this kid's last name weren't "Manning" he wouldn't still be starting. Nobody would know who he is and certainly nobody would be talking about the NFL draft. Try as the media will, sometimes it just doesn't happen. Brian was no Bob Griese. Chris was no Phil Simms. And Arch isn't even the offspring of either Peyton or Eli. He's the son of Cooper, who never even played college ball. I think the media has to stop torturing this kid to squeeze into a narrative he can't fit into. Nobody would know who he is and certainly nobody would be talking about the NFL draft. I think you can see his talent, though. He's big, fast and a nice arm. Athletic. Smart. He'd still be a top prospect without the Manning name, but certainly not as hyped. RE: College football takes - purplefaithful - 10-05-2025 I think Sarkasian is under the gun a bit now...Texas underperforms as much as the Vikings Gophers havent won in Ohio for probably 25 years now...Trust me, they had no preconceived notions going in ![]() RE: College football takes - JustInTime - 10-05-2025 (10-05-2025, 07:49 AM)MaroonBells Wrote: If this kid's last name weren't "Manning" he wouldn't still be starting. RE: College football takes - supafreak84 - 10-05-2025 Malachi Toney is Tyreek Hill 2.0 RE: College football takes - purplefaithful - 10-05-2025 (10-05-2025, 11:12 AM)supafreak84 Wrote: Malachi Toney is Tyreek Hill 2.0 Right?! How old is he now, Like 15?? RE: College football takes - Montana Tom - 10-05-2025 I tend to play in the FCS sandbox instead of the big boy FBS. #1 NDSU continues to steamroll. Took down a ranked opponent (#6 Illinois State) pretty handily 33-16. NDSU is the class of the division. #2 SDSU...same. Gonna be a major tectonic event when those two meet. #3 Tarlton won in a shootout. Now I see that their D has holes. #4 Montana Grizzlies came back from upset minded Idaho State to remain undefeated. This team (and QB) is growing up before my eyes. #5 Montana State Bobcats held off ranked Northern Arizona to win handily. The "Brawl of the Wild" is the last regular game of the season between these two and it's going to be in Missoula where the Griz enjoy home-field advantage. It's weird that Minnesota only has one FCS school (St Thomas). Michigan has none. Wisconsin has none. Odd. What is even weirder is how poorly the gophers recruit Midwest talent. The cream of the FCS is in the Midwest and loaded with kids from the Midwest, but I rarely hear about the gophers scouts sniffing around regional kids, been that way for years despite them being a bottom tier division 1 destination. They need to find some farm kids that grew up on meat and taters and built their muscles by working all day ( getting pretty rare anymore though, but they are still out there. ) |
