OT: JAWS 50th anniversaryin theatres - RS_Express - 08-30-2025

I was 4 when it first came out and though I've seen it on TV a bunch and had it on DVD and now Bluray, I've never seen it on a big screen.  Until today  Cool  Had heard about the 50th year release but didn't expect my half-horse town theatre to get it.  Heading out the door now and can't wait!

My older sister and her boyfriend took me to the theater to see Jaws when it came out, I was 9 years old, lol.....needless to say I was checking the bathtub for sharks for awhile. Wink It holds up surprisingly well, enjoy man.

Love this...

One of my favorite scenes was Quint reminiscing about WW2, floating in the ocean waiting for help to come - while his sea mates are getting eaten alive.

Today? I'll wade out a bit into the water from the beach line, but not very far. I'm talking like maybe a foot deep.

I still wont swim in the ocean...Seriously.

Jaws is a perfect film. The adventure, the terror, the jump scares, Richard Dreyfus's comic relief, Robert Shaw's acting chops. It just doesn't get any better than this.
