Nice work, first in. I see a 4th was given up, so Minnesota caved and Carolina dipped a bit. JJ will be happy about this, this is his guy. They spend time together in Minnesota. I hope it turns out to be more impactful than I initially think, but I know from the intangible side its so good for McCarthy. This is a two year deal, not just a band aid.

It's a 27-4th offset with a 27-5th. We gave up a 5th for a 7th in the 26 draft. If you've viewing this versus a 6th pick for next year, it's an overpay, but hardly a fleecing.

On the surface, it's "Vikings give up a 5+ for a 35-year-old WR." But all situations are different. The Vikings needed a recently productive player who could apply a very complex system in 12 days. Adam Thielen is one of few who really fits that bill.

Look, is a fourth-round pick a little steep for one year of 35-year-old Adam Thielen? Perhaps.
But the Vikings needed this to happen for J.J. McCarthy's sake. They're in win-now mode and would've been in trouble early on without adding an impact receiver who knows their offense.
Also (and I'm only somewhat kidding) Kwesi seems to do better with UDFAs than fourth-round picks anyways.
