Still no Van Ginkel (since 8/7) - purplefaithful - 08-19-2025 Or Harry.... The Vikings were once again without outside linebacker Andrew Van Ginkel and safety Harrison Smith at practice. Van Ginkel has been present at practices but in street clothes since Aug. 7; his injury is unknown. Smith has been absent from practices since Aug. 11 with what O’Connell said Aug. 13 is an illness. The Vikings also missed defensive lineman Levi Drake Rodriguez (ankle) and Tyler Batty (wrist) on Monday. Both were present but did not participate. Batty did do pre-practice walk-throughs. Strib RE: Still no Van Ginkel (since 8/7) - MAD GAINZ - 08-19-2025 Hopefully it's just a veteran rest up a minor injury thing with Gink and Harry and not something more serious. RE: Still no Van Ginkel (since 8/7) - MaroonBells - 08-20-2025 This is really confusing. He just signed a new deal, they're saying it's not an injury. You think maybe illness, maybe Covid. But they're up front about Harrison Smith's "illness" so why not this one? I can't fathom the Vikings would trade one of its key defensive players in the year we're set to go for all the marbles, but this is what happens sometimes when a player is on the block. And with both Turner and Murphy looking good, is it possible? RE: Still no Van Ginkel (since 8/7) - purplefaithful - 08-20-2025 (08-20-2025, 08:06 AM)MaroonBells Wrote: This is really confusing. "Just about" anything is available for the right price, right? I dont think this is the year they would jettison Van Ginkel... Next year? All bets are off, especially if Turner and Murphy ascend. That said, they're not resting him - not all of this time. Something's happened to side-line him. Hopefully the pearl clutching isnt warranted in August. |
