Breaking news❗️❗️❗️Pittsburgh Steelers release old washed up cordarrelle patterson on his day off!!!

RE: Steelers release Cordarelle Patterson - Zanary - 07-28-2025

Ouch, that can't have felt good...especially when their starting QB is "old washed up likely microdosing on LSD".

RE: Steelers release Cordarelle Patterson - comet52 - 07-28-2025

Holds an NFL record for kickoff td returns that may never be broken.

RE: Steelers release Cordarelle Patterson - Montana Tom - 07-28-2025

I was so excited when we drafted him...guy had talent that Zim didn't know how to bottle and use.

33 years old, 12 season career. Solid career for him. Pretty low numbers for him last two seasons.

Looking back in 20/20 hindsight they should have put him in as a full time RB/Hback

I always thought this as well.

Yep. Some consider him a bust, but it's hard to argue that when the guy was a 7X All Pro. There are only a handful of players in NFL history with more. But it wasn't until Atlanta made him a full time RB that he really exploded. Over 1,000 yards combined, 11 TDs. It does make you wonder what he might've done if the Vikings, or anyone else in his first 8 seasons, did the same.

RE: Steelers release Cordarelle Patterson - Canthony - 08-01-2025

Teams wanted him to be a WR and he was not very good. He had many things that made it that way. I always felt that he just never wanted to try and get better at the position or put the work in. Many things back that up as well. When it comes to WR, a position he was drafted for and played, pretty close to a bust. Why would we use him as a RB when we had Peterson lol. Always thought that take was goofy.

he was a gadget guy,  which works when you have the complimentary pieces and a OL that can run block ( which we havent had in a decade or more)  maybe his developing for teams later in his career have more to do with him maturing as a professional than how he was or wasnt used in other places.
