Josh Oliver Extended - JustInTime - 06-10-2025 Overreaction in 3…2…1 RE: Josh Oliver Extended - MaroonBells - 06-10-2025 Per reports, the Vikings see a 3-year window to win a Super Bowl with JJ McCarthy on a rookie deal. They obviously see Oliver as a big part of that. Supa-sized overreactions notwithstanding. RE: Josh Oliver Extended - Kentis - 06-10-2025 Lol, I just yesterday read 2 articles speculating that he would be gone gone gone… ![]() ![]() RE: Josh Oliver Extended - Montana Tom - 06-10-2025 (06-10-2025, 12:18 PM)MaroonBells Wrote: Per reports, the Vikings see a 3-year window to win a Super Bowl with JJ McCarthy on a rookie deal. If they figure he's contributing, their opinion is worth far more than mine. I was referring to the window time-frame....But I hear yah regarding trophies too. RE: Josh Oliver Extended - Montana Tom - 06-10-2025 I guess I had not looked at any of the analytics about Oliver. He ranked far better than I assumed. I knew he was a good blocking TE, but overall? Did not know that he led the NFL last year and was 4th in 2023 in run-blocking grades: === According to analytics site Pro Football Focus, Oliver led the NFL among tight ends with a 74.2 run-blocking grade in 2024 and earned the fourth-highest grade during the 2023 season with a 73.9. During the 2024 season, Oliver posted single-season career highs in receiving yards (258) and receiving touchdowns (three) and tied his career best in receptions with 22 in 15 games, including 12 starts. He additionally recorded 50 receiving yards in consecutive weeks for the first time in his career with his Week 9 (58 yards) and Week 10 (52) performances. Oliver boasted the second-highest rating among all tight ends in 2024 with at least 20 targets, catching 22 of his 28 targets for 258 yards and three touchdowns for a 140.8 rating, according to Next Gen Stats. Only Baltimore's Mark Andrews — who hauled in 55 of his 69 targets for 673 yards and 11 touchdowns — finished with a better rating of 140.9. RE: Josh Oliver Extended - purplefaithful - 06-10-2025 I think the guarantee is what? $12mm or $13mm? Not bad considering how he ranks in blocking per pff. Seem on target, pun intended. |
