Some teams clearly waiting for 2026 QB class - StickierBuns - 04-30-2025 Should be loaded and I expect the 3 listed below to stand the test of time to remain the top 3 and then work from there. Outside of one year band-aids like Flacco and potentially Aaron Rodgers in 2025, average age of starting QBs is going to go down. And then probably go down a bit AGAIN in 2026. Matt Stafford will be the oldest legit starter that I can think of at 37....then there's a big drop to Dak Prescott at 31 years old. That's the NFL's dream is to have a large group of QBs that just keep being the marquee TV draws and team faces going head to head and creating rivalries. RE: Some teams clearly waiting for 2026 QB class - Still Hurtn - 04-30-2025 Manning is expected to play 2 season at Texas. 2027 draft RE: Some teams clearly waiting for 2026 QB class - JustInTime - 04-30-2025 (04-30-2025, 01:51 PM)Still Hurtn Wrote: Manning is expected to play 2 season at Texas. 2027 draft Beat me to it. Payton and Eli are going to definitely counsel him to stay in as long as possible. Especially with the NIL money. RE: Some teams clearly waiting for 2026 QB class - StickierBuns - 04-30-2025 Good insight, guys. Wasn't aware of that. So put Drew Allar in there instead of Manning and my premise is the same. Add LaNorris Sellers as a first rounder. Or Fernando Mendoza. Strong class. RE: Some teams clearly waiting for 2026 QB class - Bunsen82 - 04-30-2025 My bet is Kadyn Proctor does not go #1. Say what you will, screwing over Ferentz a few times who is still extremely well respected in the NFL will not do him any favors. I won't say it will be a Sanders situation. However it was common knowledge, he did not go to classes or wouldn't show up to all practices. RE: Some teams clearly waiting for 2026 QB class - RS_Express - 04-30-2025 Also, I don't see the NYG drafting #1. Wilson, Nabers, and that Burns/Carter/Thibodeaux edge group will win just enough to leave them at #6 or so. I’ve seen quite a bit of Drew Allar (fiancé is a Penn State grad starting going to games as a kid etc) Steady improvement over his 3 years. Outside of Warren he had little help from his WR corps. Got all the measurables. I can’t but help to think he’s another Christian Hackenberg. I’m just glad we don’t need a QB. RE: Some teams clearly waiting for 2026 QB class - Greylock - 04-30-2025 I will also say Proctor will not go #1. He is a selfish individual who only looks out for himself. He originally committed to Iowa out of high school, then Alabama gave him a big bag to flip to the Tide. Played one season then transferred back to Iowa for another NIL payday. Stayed a few months then transferred back to Alabama for another big payday. He has burned a lot of bridges so far in his college career. The question used to be why so many different schools, now it’s why did you stay at the same place. We’re living in the Upside Down. I don’t think anyone will fault a kid for grabbing the bag, or skipping classes. But missing practice? Unless he’s the second coming of Johnathan Ogden, that isn’t going to fly. Would love some insight on Caleb Downs and the other S from Oregon. RE: Some teams clearly waiting for 2026 QB class - MaroonBells - 04-30-2025 And just for a little perspective, HERE is an early 2025 mock draft from exactly one year ago today. 1. Carson Beck, QB - Stayed in school 2. Luther Burden, WR - Went 39th 3. Kelvin Banks, OT - Went 9th 4. James Pearce, ED - Went 26th 5. Will Johnson, CB - Went 47th Of note: Vikings picking 8th, Quinn Ewers 10th (he went in the 7th round), Deone Walker 13th (he went in the 4th round) |
