well they had clearly pulled the plug on Jones, so what was to be gained by him staying there for either him or the team?

So many people (sports media as well as fans) think that just because Brady has all this success on the field makes him a spokesman with wise business acumen off the field. This is not his first gaffe from the booth (or outside the booth).

Since Brady has a minority stake in the Raiders he isn't able to talk to coaches because of a conflict of interest. He is just spitting out stuff he thinks is going on without really knowing the inside scoop. Best case for him, shut his mouth get out of the broadcast booth and deal with the shit organization that is called the Raiders.
