I think the Vikings wanted an upgrade at QB2. This team is clearly going for a championship. While Mullens might have been fine behind Cousins and Darnold, I don't think he's the best option behind a QB who's never played a game before.
I feel pretty confident that the Vikings will still end up with a good veteran backup...whether its Flacco, Rodgers or we have to trade for one, I don't think KOC will be satisfied with just anyone.

Hmmm....if they did make a trade I'm guessing it would be for someone who was not already a free agent. Not a lot to choose from...Cousins? Howell? Browning?

If by "history", you mean "the QB to make us forget about the Mullens INTs"...that's what I'd expect from JW.
Maybe I'm wrong, maybe time in our system/culture would bring out a better Winston...but I can't even look at pics of him without hearing him babbling about God and his INTs....
