He has a bone bruise. They heal slowly and are painful. But they heal. If Keenum can keep the team in contention for 3 or 4 more weeks, Sam could be back, for a playoff run. He's the most accurate passer the Vikings have had in a while, and though his career could be in question, it won't be from a bone bruise. Yes, he will likely need a knee replacement in his 50's, but not now.
I fully expect Bradford back. If that happens, the Vikings have a chance to be the first team to play a home game in the superbowl.
Waynes, Alexander, and the offensive line are all playing better, and despite the loss of Dalvin Cook, Shurmur is calling some great offensive plays for the players he has.
If Bradford can't recover, there is a possibility Teddy will be back.
The glass appears to be more than half full to me!
A non contact bone bruise...As in Femur head made contact with Tibia head, i.e. no cartilage/meniscus between them. Hence the 'unloader brace'.
It's degenerative and his only hope is micro-fracture surgery or early retirement (not necessarily this year) but he won't play until 40 like Favre and Brady.
Arm chair orthopedics is fun.....
