No sand in his ass. The C from NC Lampkin not only stoned him in a Senior Bowl 1v1 drill but moved him backwards.

Im locking him in a weight room on the squat rack for a year. He’s Raekwon Davis who I hated coming out and that has been justified. I’m intrigued by his movement skills, I just don’t know if he’s going to play to that size.

I've seen that description of him before, not sure who said it. I also did see Lampkin stonewall him which is a bit embarrassing when the kid is like 5'10 and 270 pounds. He does have tools, but hopefully it's not a matter of just being too tall for the position where shorter guys can just use leverage against him.

Regardless, if I see Grant at 24 I'd have a hard time saying no to taking him. I think that kid's got a bit of Dexter Lawrence to him as far as size and athletic ability.

Lampkin is my John Randle in waiting. He wrestled at 285, which would still be too light. 32” arms and nearly 11” hands. I’d make him a UDFA priority.

It could be Ivan Pace 2.0

Source: The Minnesota Vikings have a formal meeting scheduled with Florida iDL Cam Jackson in Indy.

Athletic & powerful DT had an excellent week at the Senior Bowl and is another name to become familiar with in a loaded DL class.

Another big dude - 6'6 about 340.

Walker's issue is that he plays too high which is why Lampkin had his way with him. If you can coach him to lower his pads, he might finally play up to his potential.

Interesting about Jackson. I'm much more willing to take a 2-down player like him in the middle rounds than one in the 1st.

It is a good year to need a DT and RB for sure. Just so happens that we need those two very things. Trade back into the 2nd and get another 3rd in the 60's and I think our draft can be set with 5 picks total. This is the year I don't mind so much that we have limited picks. Just come away with an impact DT and RB, while getting a CB in FA and it is a successful offseason.

If we're able to cover needs at CB and DT in free agency, I wouldn't hate this pick. But you never know what you're gonna get with a rookie (see Kenyon Green). We can't afford to miss there. Now, while that's true at every position, if we truly want to FIX the IOL, I think we need to do it in free agency with players who've proven they can play in the NFL.

In a world where we lose out on the younger IOL such as Fries, Jenkins or Becton & have to settle for the older guys such as Scherff & Zeitler, using our top pick on an IOL would be a sound strategy.
