You know Emmonwori has only played a little over 100 snaps this year, right? It's a little premature to be beating your chest over him being PFF's top ranked safety based on such a small sample size. In contrast, our safety/big nickel Theo Jackson has played almost 200 more snaps this year and has played well. You know who else had a small sample size? Isiah Rodgers. How’s that working out for you? As far as being an army of one, I’m cool with that. My track record on the draft and FA is pretty strong. Show me someone who has hit more often than me. Xavier Watts has actually been better than Emmanwori IMO and he went in the 3rd round. We're literally 6 weeks into the season. Far too early IMO to be playing the "this guy over that guy" game. But sure, if you want, Tuten or Skattebo over Felton. JCM over Bartholomew....the guy I wanted in the 3rd was Sai'vion Jones, whom the Broncos traded up one spot ahead of us to select. He's playing really well. If I had a dollar for every draft pick I didn't agree with I could retire...in Laos or somewhere cheap. Wanted Watts bad. Soon as he was taken we traded down. We almost had a damn near perfect draft, with as little as we had, if Watts would have been there. Well that's hard to say because nobody knows just what your "track record" is lol. Maybe you could post it for us? I'm sure Maroon would vouch for its authenticity RE: Oh Really? - JustInTime - 10-14-2025 (10-14-2025, 07:54 PM)supafreak84 Wrote: Well that's hard to say because nobody knows just what your "track record" is lol. My track record is well known. If you choose to ignore it, that’s a you problem. RE: Oh Really? - supafreak84 - 10-14-2025 (10-14-2025, 07:54 PM)Canthony Wrote: Wanted Watts bad. Didn't have elite measurables, but there wasn't a better ball hawking safety in college football the last few years. Watts was just one of those guys who is a magnet for the football, so it's not a surprise to see him starting for Atlanta out of the gate and having early success. I've been part of this board for many years, but I couldn't tell you who you specifically wanted in certain drafts because at the end of the day...nobody really cares. I know you were in on Emmonwori, Starks, and Treyveon Henderson (like a lot of us were) in this last draft, so it's easy to cherry pick from a group and pat yourself on the back when any one of them has success. On the flipside, I'm also fairly certain you were part of the group trying to sell us that Lewis Cine wasn't such a bad pick and could be a "Swiss army knife" type player for our defense. We all have our draft hits and misses. Nature of the beast. RE: Oh Really? - JustInTime - 10-14-2025 (10-14-2025, 08:06 PM)supafreak84 Wrote: I watched every college game he played. Well, that’s the difference between you and I and MB. We’ve got recall of who wanted whom going back years. I think we fairly recently went back to the draft class that included Kevin Williams. More recently the CB class with Trent McDuffie. More recent still we were talking about the LB from Pittsburgh, Wilson, who I thought would go undrafted due to a half dozen or more knee surgeries. Yes, I definitely tried to sell Cine. Loved Hamilton but instead of whining like a little bitch after missing on the painfully obvious Harrison replacement, I chose to try and find a bright side to a really bad pick. Sue me for trying to be positive. RE: Oh Really? - supafreak84 - 10-14-2025 (10-14-2025, 08:36 PM)JustInTime Wrote: Well, that’s the difference between you and I and MB. Oh I could look back and tell you who I specially wanted in certain drafts dating back to the 80's. I could say I wanted Tom Brady, but nobody cares because it can't be verified and that's the point. So, pointing to your "track record" on a fan board literally means zilch. And you are preaching to the choir here on Hamilton. If they wanted a safety in that draft soo bad, why not just take the guy who inexplicably fell in your lap and was the best prospect at the position in a decade? Spielman would have taken him, guaranteed Speaking of the Kevin Williams draft, was there anybody out there who wasnt pissed we didn't draft Terrell Suggs? Hometown boy, only on the board because of his 40 time. Turned out we couldn't have gone wrong either way RE: Oh Really? - JustInTime - 10-14-2025 If no one cares about track record, why post an opinion in the first place? Why did you ask me about the Penn State RBs? Because my track record of opinions on the draft is poor? ![]() RE: Oh Really? - supafreak84 - 10-14-2025 (10-14-2025, 09:15 PM)JustInTime Wrote: If no one cares about track record, why post an opinion in the first place? No, because I know you follow the program more closely than I and I actually do enjoy talking draft with you, Maroon, Sticky and the rest. You bring a lot of good information and content to the board. Like I say, the bottom line is we all want the same thing, just don't always agree on the path to get there. I'd be happy to raise a beer with any one of you if this damn team ever wins the big one. Hopefully that's soon because we are all tired of waiting |
