Very impressive at times, many times actually. But as we've all discussed, he reverted to past bad habits toward the end. I also was mildly surprised he didn't garner more FA attention, but I think other than Seattle, teams were wary and non-believers. Your term of 'brilliant placeholder' is accurate IMO. While he did complete some great passes, he also showed a lot of the same hesitation and lack of field vision from his past, people focused on the teams succes as a marker that he had turned a major page, I looked at it as he looked as good as he was because of the team around him and if he was out on an average roster his luster would dim. I only made it to 2 games last year, but those 2 showed me that while they were both wins, his play was more mirage than an indicator of some rebirth. I expect him to have a similar first year in Seattle but with less success due to a weaker supporting cast, and as the succes declines so will his confidence and improved play. |
