The pool of free agent QB's are generally a bunch of never been, with a couple of has been QB's thrown in for good measure.
The glass slipper is unlikely to fit any of them!
Never the less, a group of so called insiders fabricating and dreaming up scenarios for them has some fans whipped into a frenzy!
It seems the only inside info and qualification some of these people have is the fact they report from inside their basement!
The Vikings plan all along has been to have JJM start this year. They need to have a quality backup at a reasonable price. Who that backup will be is the only question. Not as exciting to report as Rodgers or Cousins coming here I guess.

Assuming Darnold and Dimes both go elsewhere, is there anybody out there in free agency you see as a good fit? I think Flacco would be really great for McCarthy but I know if we get in a situation where he has to play, KOC prefers someone with some movement ability. Mac Jones or Cooper Rush float anybodys boat?

I do not buy any of the low market for Darnold, too many teams need a starter, he will have some options, maybe not top QB money, but more than Vikes will be willing to give him, could be what Seattle is planning. I could see Jones going somewhere like Indy, where he may see a better chance to start. A name not mentioned at all, but I think the guy most likely to back up JJM is Mullens. He is familiar with the offense and is a decent backup and I think KOC would prefer having the familiarity than bringing in someone else with not much higher of a ceiling.

If we're going "cheap" and looking for upside, I'd look at another top 10 pick that got kicked by the team that drafted. Justin Fields.

Yah, I read in another piece Dimes to Indy has some traction...
I dont think we'll keep him as a QB2 and not sure I blame him if someone is willing to hand him a bag again.
Would not surprise me if some team not being talked about much makes a play for Sam next week. I guess everyone thinks Sea will make a play for him now.
I also agree the so called "weak mkt" isnt passing my smell test - yet.

The trading of Smith has the whole Seattle bunch up here in a tizzy. I've been asked if it's true that we're trading JJM to the Seahawks, I told 'em they're much more likely to get Darnold.
Hopefully, by week's end, the annual "Who's Our Starting QB!?!?" melodrama can be done for MANY years....

The #Seahawks reportedly offered Geno Smith a contract extension that averaged between $35M-$40M per year.
It seems logical that Sam Darnold will be made that same offer from Seattle this Monday.

Agree. Much prefer Daniel Jones, but I think he'll get a better offer elsewhere. If Fields has to play he could be Josh Dobbs to the 3rd power. And given the way KOC loves to whisper into the ears of young, talented QBs squandering their talent in bad offenses, I could see him wanting another reclamation project.
