I agree,  the NFL doesnt get to make more money by coming up with ways for the fan to pay less.  I think  the last couple years of the games getting spread across more pay services is the future,  its why that cap keeps going up.

I shall remain on the high seas. Charge whoever you want, whatever you want.

As we move farther away from the traditional TV model, I would have to assume we're getting closer to the ala carte model where I can pick and choose the games I want to watch (and pay for) without also having to pay for a package of other games, 90% of which I won't watch. Or maybe I'm just wishful thinking.

I think that model will soon apply to all services.   Either cable, Direct TV, and Dish Network will either have to offer ala carte programing packages or they will all go the way of the buggy whip.  I'm actually surprised it hasn't fully happened already.

Dish does have the Flex plan that we use for live TV...My bill goes up when I need more sports viewng in the fall/winter and down when I dont.

To your point, I think that will evolve even more going forward.

I tried to switch to Youtube a while back, but it wasn't worth the hardware hassle for us with the little $$ saved vs Dish.
