In the 2022 draft he traded our first round pick to the Lions. Then looking back at that draft we see it is the worst draft the Vikings have ever made.
I seriously doubt that trading down to a division rival in the first round has ever happened in the history of the NFL.

I think these last four games are significant when it comes to whether the Wilfs retain or shitcan Kwesi. I'd wager as follows;
O-1 wins- fired
2 wins- maybe
3-4 wins- retained
Remember, the Wilfs fired Childress the very next year after giving him an extension, so there's precedent by ownership to go that route. They also shitcanned Spielman after an 8-9 season, so if we go 5-12 or 6-11 on top of just spending 300 or so million in free agency, I'd say Kwesi is toast and rightfully so. Combine that with his draft record and how do you justify it otherwise if you are the Wilfs?

Honestly don't know that we should be looking at team W/L when it comes to Kwesi.
After three full drafts, In terms of player personnel, I see a lot more L's than W's

If I were the Wilfs, I’d be getting aggressive right now. Kwesi’s formula isn’t translating the way he expected, and IMO, the scouting department needs a serious overhaul.
A few candidates who intrigue me for better or worse:
Andy Weidl — Steelers Assistant GM
- He’s spent time under Ozzie Newsome and Eric DeCosta in Baltimore and was Howie Roseman’s right-hand man in Philly. He has 24+ years of scouting experience and helped shape the Eagles’ turnaround starting in 2016. His philosophy centers on finding the right fit and building cohesive teams, not just collecting talent.
Jon-Eric Sullivan — Packers VP of Player Personnel
- He’s worked his way up Green Bay’s scouting department since interning in 2003. He became a major part of their draft room around 2016. While the Packers’ draft classes haven’t always blown me away, the organization has been consistently well-run for decades.
Alec Halaby — Eagles Assistant GM
- I’m intrigued by his background, but after the Kwesi experiment, I can’t help seeing him as a “Kwesi-lite.” Smart, analytical, Ivy League (Harvard this time), but more of a complementary strategist than a true leader. The résumé is great; the fit… I’m not convinced.
John McKay — Rams Assistant GM
- He’s been involved in some of the best drafts of the past few years. As Director of Pro Scouting from 2021–2024, he helped assemble a roster with 20–25 solid contributors still on the team. That track record speaks loudly.
Chad Alexander — Chargers Assistant GM
- He’s worked with both Harbaugh brothers; what more needs to be said? Okay, fine, he’s also an Ozzie Newsome protégé. That alone puts him on the shortlist.

I mean I'd still love to know the real reasons why the Wilfs hired Kwesi in the first place. I think we all know why, but I'd love for the Wilfs to give a straight answer. His resume was so completely lacking and you bring him over from a totally dysfunctional Cleveland organization where he ran "football operations" for a year. No scouting or personnel experience in his background whatsoever. He made sure there were enough towels on the sidelines and that the hotdog cart was filled for gamedays. Why would the Wilfs, who are supposedly smart people, just say, "ahh screw it" and hand him over the keys to a playoff quality roster? He is the Les Steckel of GM hires and goes down as probably the strangest hire in this organizations history IMO. I was one of the few who called it an awful hire at the time and its played out as expected. To make matters worse they've further multiplied the problem by bringing in Grigson, a completely failed GM himself, to be his right hand man and "voice of reason" in the draft room. The sooner this problem is rectified by the owners who created it, the better we will be as an organization moving forward.
Looks like most of us are agreeable that McKay should absolutely be interviewed
