RE: Back to JJM next week and continue the plan - pattersaur - 11-30-2025 The team is 100% all in on McCarthy still. It’s either he’s The Guy or none of this works. We’ve seen that. Maybe next year that’ll be different but I doubt it. Even if he’s not even starting for us, the actions the team took to build around him will likely seal the fate of the 2026 squad as well. So we really need him to work out! I remain hopeful. But he has to stay healthy. Hopefully he does. As far as hindsight— Daniel Jones and Sam Darnold haven’t played well in a month. In a different universe imagine they are wearing purple and that same scenario is playing out. If Jones were here and sputtering you’d have half the fan base calling for McCarthy to start next week. Life is full of twists and turns, maybe McCarthy can shock the world and right the ship yet this season. Because if not, the alternative is bleak. RE: Back to JJM next week and continue the plan - comet52 - 11-30-2025 There's a plan? Lol. Brian Flores can coach a defense. He's also looking very much like he's leaving after this season, probably to be replaced by fraud Brandon Staley, KOC's buddy. KOC otoh is the most useless offensive coach I've seen in a long time. He's been situationally and strategically terrible since day one, doesn't address festering problems with oline, special teams, you name it. They hired him for his ability to talk and slap backsides, not to coach. He's managed to get the best player on his team playing poorly, showing bad body language and acting today like he just wants out. And I'm sorry to burst anyone's bubble but JJM has a near zero chance of being a success in the NFL. He's mind-numbingly historically bad, the stats prove it. People can float all the fantasy comps like Josh Allen they want but this is Zach Wilson meets JaMarcus Russell. Sorry. Drafting him where they did was simply a mistake. I hoped he might be the guy but as this year has gone on the hype just seemed less and less real and then he got on the field (when he wasn't injured again) and there was no hype any more, just, wtf. A plan only works if competent people execute it and KAM/KOC aren't that. Here's an interesting question; should Brian Flores be the head coach of this football team? I think he's proven to be the real deal and my trust in him is ten fold over what it is in O'Connell at this point. It's kind of similar to when we had this guy running our defense named Mike Tomlin who I thought was a better coach then our head coach at the time (Childress) and I thought it was a mistake letting him go to Pittsburgh. Flores time as a HC in Miami was a huge fail, he alienated players and staff, do not see him as a great communicator or having the personality to be a HC. From just a strictly football perspective, I do not even like him as a DC. Defense did okay today, but they consistently do not come out looking prepared giving up a score on most 1st possessions and poor in game adjustments. Also think of Flores from a personnel perspective, sure it was largely his call to not resign Bynum and think that Metullus could play that role, also to give big money to Murphy, signing Allen and Hargrave and it has been widely reported he was a huge fan of Rogers and wanted him badly. Not a fan, especially with his bogus lawsuit. No one was going to hire him except Tomlin after the Miami fiasco and he had no other offers when Kwesi came calling. I am just saying the ridiculous number of injuries is not helping the development of the qb. Then there is the inconsistent play from other units of the offense.WRs need to catch the damn ball as well. One of those INTs was on Jefferson. Addison dropped a catchable ball early. I'm not sure any team can hire him with the lawsuit active. Probably an unspoken owner taboo. And his time in Miami wasn't exactly stellar. But I'm also not sure he wants the job. He's not under contract after this year is what I heard. He may be looking to escape the mess. If you are a competent coach on a staff with a bunch of incompetents, you want to get away before the stench gets on your resume. Maybe he just sees the ship sinking and wants off, I don't know. If they did hire him he'd still need a competent OC, GM, and QB. Lotta work to do.
