RE: Bears and Lessons - supafreak84 - 11-29-2025 Regardless of how Caleb played or didn't play, that was a huge franchise tilting type win for the Bears yesterday. Ben Johnson appears as advertised. For all those who bashed the Bears, their process, their GM (Ryan Poles sucks), how we feeling about things now? Especially in context of where we are at as a franchise four years later. We held on to older veterans, got a few regular season wins to appease the owners, but ultimately at what cost? We are farther away now from winning a playoff game then when Kwesi started four years ago. RE: Bears and Lessons - Knucklehead - 11-29-2025 Da Bears have had a top 10 pick in the draft the last 3 years including the No.1 pick in 2024. Let's see how well they draft now that they're picking in the 20's. But if Max somehow balls out in any fashion today, win or lose, and JJ gets the next start and continues to look bad, fans will scream for Brosmer. He needs to show some incremental improvement desperately. I keep reading all of this 'inside info' that the team secretly loves Brosmer and expectations are he might play well, then I want to see it. There is no way in hell Minnesota does not bring in comp for JJ either with Max getting in on a QB competition or a KOC University guy getting in one in 2026. Easier sledding to pull some field-tilting talent when you continually draft in this area. Even when you fuck up royally like they did when they went up to get Trubinsky and gave up all that comp. RE: Bears and Lessons - purplefaithful - 11-30-2025 I'm not giving the Bears the benefit of the doubt...I think that win vs Philly was catching the Eagles at the right time and not a sign the Bears are a top 4 power in the NFC. That said? Still an impressive win on the road. RE: Bears and Lessons - comet52 - 11-30-2025 RE: Bears and Lessons - purplefaithful - 11-30-2025 Life is good when you're winning... They've also made some smart trades that have aided in building their roster including the trade down with Carolina that landed them the #1 overall pick that became Caleb Williams. The breakdown of that trade went like this; Panthers- Bryce Young Bears- DJ Moore, Darnell Wright, Tyrique Stevenson, Caleb Williams, and Luther Burden They've spent wisely in free agency solidifying the offensive line and building the defense. This is the big difference in ownership turning the reigns over to the person they hired and ownership saddling the new hire with this "competitive rebuild" bullshit. The Bears are now reaping the benefits of their rebuild plan |
