I have no idea what’s going on with Kelly, and it sounds like nobody else does either. It’s been radio silence from that camp. I think if he were going to retire, he would’ve done that 4 weeks ago. Is there a financial angle to it? Is there a benefit to resting his brain another week, or two, or 4? No clue. But I tend to think he needs to make a decision after the Lions game. Either go on season-ending IR, retire, or get out there and play.

I tend to think this is a Kelly-only decision and the team's medical staff is out of it. It's not a pain issue. It's not a mobility issue. It's not even really a time issue. It's a vulnerability issue and there's no predicting that. He could take the year off and then suffer another concussion on his first snap in 2026. He could also start against the Ravens and go another two years without one. 

My only point is that the Vikings probably need a little clarity from Kelly on the matter because it's his decision and his alone.
