Never been to Ireland previously. The countryside is gorgeous. People were nice. Weather is cool, often rainy but mostly didn't get rained on until the last day. Guinness everywhere. It's my drink of choice so that worked out well but I don't drink much these days. Maybe had 3-4 pints over the entire week.
Food was probably the only letdown. Hard to find a really nice meal without spending a fortune. Pub food in abundance was more reasonable but it's never really been my favorite. If I could go back I would spend most of my time in the countryside.
Overall a very fun trip, the Vikings didn't comply with a win but that's why they're the Vikings. The league and Steelers fans definitely turned it into a home field advantage for them and there was a lot of talk about the Rooney family history so maybe a loss was inevitable.

Beans on toast, cabbage, potatoes, fried fish, sometimes sausage, English breakfast: its all shit. Their biscuits are dry garbage. Bubble and squeak (yuck). English tea (gross). If you get a chance to try Haggis....don't. Although that's Scottish.
Those two countries are definitely not known for their cuisines. I'll take some bread and butter pudding, however.

Definitely not the land for foodies. It's probably why they prefer to just drink their dinner.

I have a theory that says the lighter your skin, the worse your food is. Think about it: Ireland, England, Scotland, Scandinavian countries with their wretched lutefisk...
Ireland is like England. If you want good food, you have to take advantage of the large Indian and Middle Eastern population in both countries. Zaytoon in Temple Bar was by far the best food we ate at in Dublin. The shawarma haunts me to this day.
