As stated, it is a rugby and not a football play. Makes about as much sense as a football getting fumbled out of the end zone going to the opposing team at the 20. Baseball had the infield shift for years that everyone said just find a way to beat it, but it continued to ruin the game and it is so much better now that they have taken it away. Some say find a way to beat it, how about give the ball to your RB and find a way to get a yard by blocking the other team the way the game is meant to be played.

Yup. In a league that went light and fast for the passing game, Philly beefed up and ran the ball. This is old school wedge football. Figure out how to stop it.

I think if you enforce the rules better on those plays, then you wouldnt see the success. I have watched teams ( philly specifically move the ball forward prior to the snap, then have the center lined up over the ball the other OL up on his shoulder pad or even mid helmet, occasionally over the ball themselves. call them for advancing the ball once the center touches it if he does, neutral zone infractions when they are occurring, but dont outlaw the play. however if teams are going to run that shit, then that QB is fair game in every sense of the word, if they allow it to happen to a RB then no unnecessary roughness calls just because its a QB.

I don’t really enjoy watching Eagles games, so I’m not really aware of the nuances, but I don’t see how you could ban it. I think the closest thing you could get to would be that there’s an injury risk to pushing a player that’s already engaged forward, but is there any actual evidence of that?
It’s a pretty big field tilter if you can 85% convert 4th and 2’s or whatever the numbers are, but I like variety in schematic styles, and I like being aggressive on 4th downs rather than punting all the time, and you shouldn’t just ban stuff that’s working.

but then no more delay of game or whatever bull shit the refs try and make up on the spot when the opposing D tries to guess the snap and jump the line. That is just as much part of the game. I also dont want to see any helmet to helmet calls on the defense when the make contact with the ball carrier or blockers helmets when trying to make the play. No problem with the play, but the defense has to be able to do whatever they can to stop it.
