RE: OT: Choose Wisely - JimmyinSD - 02-21-2025

first 2 are super easy for me:
Metallica
Motley Crue

after that is a huge jumble
probably
G&R
and Van Haggar ( the music was just better with Sammy, Eddie found a new sound and it really brought out the artist in his playing IMO.)

Would have loved to see Lemmy live,  as well as pretty much everyone left on the list,  but gun to head those are my answers.

Hagar is a WAY better singer than Dave, not even close. VH purists are going to side with DLR, but to me, outside of Diver Down, I liked VH better with Hagar.

I don't get the gaga everyone seems to have about Zeppelin. I like a couple of their songs. Yes Page is very good. I have already seen a lot of those bands and don't need to see them again. Saw Motley Crue and the place was full of a marijuana haze that I got a contact high. Saw Queen at Wembley for Live Aid and I will never tire of them. Freddie Mercury is absolutely phenomenal. His presence is one of a kind. Brian May is an amazing guitarist and an astrophysicist. John Deacon wrote some amazing songs. Roger Taylor on drums is incredible as well as his backing vocals.

At first glance I thought it was going to be a joke post.

Each show costs $350, you have $25, choose wisely.

If your naughty bits aren’t tingly, I regret to inform you that you’re dead.

Led Zeppelin 4 shows in a row. Or maybe 3 Led Zeps and a Queen but only if Freddie is the front man.

I could live with that...

I just noticed GNR on that list. Not a Welcome to the Jungle guy, but their Cold November Rain is quite a magnum opus in most estimations, including my own.

Yup. They stomped hard.

I still chill to this some nights with my 8:00 "puff" The softer, beautiful side of Zeppelin.

Did you watch Mind Hunter? The scene with Ed Kemper in the hospital? In the aftermath they play In The Light.

Chills.
