I believe there was a discrepancy and the fine line between being game ready and cleared to practice. If you aren't game ready and can protect yourself.. then you are unable to physically perform.
I feel Teddys camp probably pushed to be taken off PUP because he was going to be cleared to practice. I am going to guess they lost that fight.
Just my opinion that is.
Are people still doubting that Bridgewater and Vikings management are at odds, or going to be, over the PUP/tolling idea, and it will likely get ugly? Good thing people are so pleased with his tweets about his faith..
I guess I am doubting it as a very good source told me a month ago that it was not a point of contention at that time and we have seen nothing to suggest otherwise since then.

Well, if your employer took an action that made you ineligible for a six fold increase in pay and locked you in to your current pay for another gear, I'm guessing most people would be at least mildly annoyed...

True, but I would also be pretty happy that if I got hurt and couldnt work for 1-2 years and still get full pay and still have a job..... I might be happy

But he hasn't been cleared to practice as far as I know, has he?
Doesn't appear so as he was videod working out with Floyd away from the rest. However he may be taking part in non contact parts of practice and doing his rehab drills during the more physical parts.
It seems like there is some confusion about what Teddy CAN and CAN'T do while he is on the PUP list...
Because he is on the PUP list, he is NOT allowed to practice with the team. He can do rehab work on the side, but he cannot participate in any part of practice. If he is cleared to practice with the team (contact or non-contact), he would then need to be removed from the PUP list.
If he is removed from the PUP list during training camp/preseason ... He is no longer eligible to be placed on the regular season PUP list and would count towards the 53 man roster whether he is physically ready to play or not.
At this point, I would be surprised if he is activated from the PUP list. The last preseason game is today and if he was healthy enough to practice/play, he would have been activated by now. It seems pretty clear the team will leave him on the PUP list and move him to the regular season PUP list this weekend when final rosters need to be set. Once that happens, he won't be able to play for the first 6 weeks and would then have a 3 (or 5?) week window to be activated to the 53 man roster assuming he is completely healthy.

Hmmm I was informed that he can still be on the PUP list even if he is cleared to practice.

Correct. I think there was confusion on the PUP thought. I think it may have or was confusion that if a player was cleared to practice that he could and expected to be off the PUP list. Later that wasnt the case.
This is how Im seeing it

I don't think that is the case... note the bolded portions.
The Active/PUP is only used in the preseason. The Active/PUP designation is used for players who are unable to start training camp. Once these players are medically cleared, they can immediately join team practices.
The Reserve/PUP is the regular season equivalent of the Active/PUP, but with slightly different rules. A player on the Active/PUP list automatically moves to Reserve/PUP at the end of training camp, provided he hasn't practiced with the team. Once a player moves off the Active/PUP list during camp and starts practicing, he is automatically ineligible for Reserve/PUP.

Here is another source...

Here’s the description of the PUP list from the post we did last year.
Quote:The PUP List gives players who are unable to start Training Camp the ability to sit out until the team’s medical staff gives them the clearance to being practicing. This is generally done for players that had suffered an injury during the prior season that they’re still rehabbing from, such as Rhett Ellison with his patellar tendon issue. Any player placed on the PUP List is eligible to begin practicing again as soon as they’re given clearance.
Once a player practices during Training Camp, they are no longer eligible for the PUP List. If a player is taken off of the PUP List, they can’t be placed back on it. They would then have to go on Injured Reserve. During their time on the PUP List, players can go through conditioning drills and things of that nature, but they can’t practice with the team.
During the preseason, the PUP List is referred to as the Active/PUP List. If a player is still on the PUP List at the end of Training Camp, the team has the option to move him to the Reserve/PUP List. If a player is placed on the Reserve/PUP List, they must sit out the first six weeks of the regular season. When those six weeks are up, the team has three weeks to decide whether or not the player can begin practicing with the team. If the player does start practicing with the team, they then have three weeks from the date of their first practice to decide whether or not they want to add him to the 53-man roster. If they don’t do so, the player will revert to injured reserve and will be out for the rest of the season.

Guess it depends on the meaning of "practice with the team"? Do individual drills mean practicing with the team?
