Did you see why Reichard missed his FG? - StickierBuns - 10-05-2025

The ball hit the Spydercam wire......the refs missed it. Tough one for Will the Thrill.

That sucks.  I thought someone got a hand on it.

Yes, it was curving right and was going to be very close to the right upright, but when it hit the camera wire it went way right.
This is actually amazing, $ billions and it's like sandlot football.

So what's the ruling if they had seen it happen? I dont think they replay the down.

Should have been a rekick according to Reddit. That should be reviewable.

According to Grok its apparently up to official discretion as to if it clearly affected the outcome of the kick.   Seems pretty NFLish to not have a firm rule in place,  but to let the refs make a judgement call.

Arent they considered dead balls in dallas when the punts hit the big TV hanging over the field,  or are they a re-kick?

No excuse that no one the coaching staff caught that, watching it again, it is amazing how no one saw that as it is so obvious. Probably worked out for us, because on the last drive we stayed aggressive and went for the TD as if the game was tied, we most likely would have played more conservative and settled for a long FG.

This was also the most clueless announcing group I've ever heard. Nothing about the wire, nothing about Addison.

Btw, there's some buzz on twitter that with so many millions bet on parlays, there should be a rule in the NFL that if a player is not going to play for whatever reason, it should be made public prior to kickoff. I'm not sure I agree with that but you can see their point.
