The interception on their side of the field ended up being a 10/14 point swing and not getting the 2 pt conversion on the last drive could have kept us at least from not getting beat on the FG and put it into overtime. We stayed with them all game.
Depends upon what they are playing for at that stage of the season. If they are playing for the division and playoff seeding, I'm all for it. If the outcome won't change anything, rest the vets and wounded, and get some young guys and backups some playing time before the playoffs.
Yes, we just need to stay within a game or tied with them depending on the tie-breakers.
They still have to play at the 49ers and the Bills.  And this week at the Colts, so anything can happen.
That week 18 game could be a real doozy.

Exactly, this is what I fear with the new CFP and some of the old, storied college football rivalry games too. They may become meaningless as teams rest starters for the next weeks playoff game.

Still a long 7 weeks to go.

Even though we lost that Lions game, I thought it was one of the best the team played this year. They certainly looked better for that one vs either of the past 2 road games.
I'm looking forward to it, for sure.

Something that gets kind of lost, to myself as much as anyone: we're one game behind the current media NFC darlings, after a narrow loss to them, and with a QB who's now played about a dozen games (including preseason) with our team...vs a Lions team that's been gelling for years, now, around its principal players.

We have more potential for growth, especially on offense.

Given that Darnold seems to have shaken some of his twitches and bad/panic decisions last Sunday, he could keep growing in terms of timing and playbook comfort all season long. If Flores keeps finding new ways to confound opposing QBs/OCs, our "best football" should be updating each week.
It's an eternity away guys! Let's smash the Bears.

I'll leave that to KOC, let's look ahead! Wink

This defense is markedly different with Cashman.
