Oh wow I can't wait to check out this one. Unfortunately it will have to wait until tomorrow.... But Thanks A Lot Tom!!!

So excellent. Enjoyed every minute, wish Tom P. were still full-time on the Vikes, and you are an excellent interviewer.

Excellent interview. Tom was a great beat writer for the Vikings and it is always great to hear his perspective on the Vikings and the NFL.

Like all good sports reporters, Tom is well-versed on the teams he covers and the entire NFL.

He is sorely missed by fans on ESPN 1500, and I am glad he spent some time with us here to talk purple.

I've only had a chance to listen to the first half so far... but boy, do I sure miss Tom Pelissero and his coverage of the Vikings at ESPN 1500.  I'll comment more later once I've had a chance to listen to the rest of it, but I agree with his thoughts on the Kluwe/Priefer thing...

IMO it seems like two completely different personalities didn't click.  Kluwe is a pretty out-spoken guy, has a variety of interests on and off the field, and seemed to march to the beat of a different drum.  I personally liked it, but I can see how that would be frustrating to his coach.  I think both got on each other's nerves until it came to a boiling point.  I also don't think either one is blameless in this situation.  The bottom line is if Kluwe would have been a better punter, he'd still be with the team.  I don't care if he was the "best punter" statistically for the Vikings...  That's like saying Matt Schaub is a great QB because he's the Texans all-time passing leader...  Hope this situation sorts itself out quickly so we all can move on.

Also, I wonder which vets were the ones showing up in shells for padded practices?  Jared Allen and Kevin Williams?  Makes you wonder since both were let go without much of a fight this off-season.

Good interview PP.

Pelissero is good at his job and gives a good interview, don't always agree with his takes but he does a good job.

Thanks for taking your time with Vikefans Tom!
Thank you to PP

Really informative interview and covered a lot of ground.  Thanks to both Toms for doing this one.

I like Tommy P.  And Tom, great job on the interview.  Made for one of the more insightful interviews this offseason.

His observation about Green Bay's obsession with the Packers makes sense in a town with little other entertainment option.  It's actually a bit like Nebraska in that vein... a fairly large geographic swath without any major league sports team in Omaha/Lincoln/the entire state, whereby they live & breathe Huskers.  That doesn't make it bad.  It is what it is, and they embrace it (as is appropriate in Green Bay).

Yes, I too am curious which players played in shells at practices instead of pads.  That tells me that the coaching staff had lost control of his highly paid team.

Great interview, it was interesting hearing his take on Frazier, the lack of respect the players showed the coaching staff, and what Tom termed "agendas" floating around Winter Park last year.  So far this offseason, we've heard Robison, KWill, and Greenway harshly criticize the old staff in some way.  It really paints a picture of quite a dysfunctional franchise.  Hopefully those days are in the past.

Thanks for another stellar interview PP and thanks for taking the time to stop by Tom P.!  You are missed greatly by us Vikings fans.

I got the feeling his responses were right and fair. Thank you!

Tom shoots pretty straight, and you gotta love the depth he provided on guys like Kluwe (personality), how guys behave in locker rooms, Antoine Winfield, guys not following the coach's, etc.

Tom was one of the best guys on Minnesota sports radio.  I am glad he got the bigger gig, but wish he still did some radio too.  I feel like he has more talent than to just be a writer.

Great interview.  Very easy to listen to, knows his stuff.   Thanks to Tom P and Tom M.

Except for the one about the Packers being a good team...

Kinda funny there was no comments about the QB situation or Ponder, especially in relation to the coaching. I know it would have been speculative at best, but his impressions on Ponder would have been interesting.

His comments concerning klewe and Prieffer are kinda what I was wondering happened.

He didn't seem very high on Ponder during the mini-camps:

Cassel took all the first-team reps today. Ponder looked like Ponder. As you were.

The issue with Ponder questions is that i have asked so many people about him and the answer is very repetitive.  I decided to ask about Cassel and Bridgewater until and unless Ponder moves up from the #3 QB.  The Freeman question was asked because Tom is now national media, and I thought we would get a more direct answer from him than the local beat writers.  And, his comments he relayed from Freeman's personal QB coach did give us that indication of what went wrong for Josh.

That was a good piece. It was quite interesting to hear his take on Kalil, that maybe he didn't work as hard as he should have. Hopefully Matt's fully healthy and turns into the stud LT we all know he can be. Asides from AD, that'll be Teddy's (or Cassel's) best friend.

Really enjoyed this one

Tom Pelissero checked-in after the interview and said "it was fun to do this, and I am glad to help anytime".

Sounds like an invitation to us, so we will put Tom on our speed dial list for the season!

Really good stuff. Tom P. gives more insight and straight scoop than anyone I've heard or read in recent years in the Twin Cities. This is the kind of information I'm interested in. Player interviews don't do much for me, they are so generic and cliche.

A couple points I found interesting:

- Tom thinks Matt Kalil isn't working as hard as he should be with his body and learning the playbook.

- It was Minnesota's time spent with Bridgewater following his Pro Day that sold Minnesota. That he would improve as a pro.

- Thinks the Vikes O-line could be top 5 with an upgrade of Yankey at LG.
