Just turn the page on this guy. The team doesn’t have time for this B.S. He gets a lifeline with his hometown team with what was probably a pretty decent role in the offense and he blew it. Hasn’t learned shit.

For his sake, was hoping he had gotten his drinking problem under control. As a fan? I’m a little bummed this guy wont be here to contribute. Who’d have thought we’d have so many problems trying to get to 3 decent and complimentary WR’s?

Really wish we would have landed Alshon…

What I’m curious about is how accurate is a BAC reading from an ankle bracelet? Or was some other test used? I for one would be surprised if a device reading BAC through the skin on your ankle could really get down to an interval as narrow as .044-.055. I wouldn’t be surprised if going to the thousandths on that report is wildly optimistic.

A yes or know as to whether there’s alcohol in your blood with that kind of a sensor? Yes, I can believe that. Detecting a difference within one on hundredth of a percent? I’m suspicious.

Definitely doesn’t look good for him though.

Got a pic in your sig? I've ignored you.

Floyd wasn’t wearing an ankle bracelet, as he convinced the court it would hinder his ability to do his job (football) which is true.  So instead, Floyd had one of those at home breathalyzer devices and randomly throughout the day, he had to blow.

I’ll wait until whatever comes out, but it’s not favorable right now.

If that’s the case, he could potentially have an out. We all know it’s bullshit, but those breathalyzers require you to not have consumed any alcohol within something like 20 minutes of blowing into it because the residue is in your mouth. I have one at my bar and people are constantly surprised at “how much they can drink” because they take a swig of their gin and tonic and blow into it.

But he’s full of shit.

Yeah but he refused the breathalyzer a couple times too. I am sure they gave him instructions of how to use the breathalyzer (at least I hope). Also the fact still remains that the Kombucha Tea has alcohol in it. I have a hard time understanding the defense of he didn’t drink alcohol he just drank Kombucha tea that has alcohol in it. Just because the amount is a small amount does not mean he didn’t break his probation.

Ah, that’s good information. It also means he must have known right away that he didn’t pass, and if he’s smart he called his lawyer right away. Of course, that would be the thing to do regardless of whether it’s kambucha or real drinks or mouthwash.

I still contend that trying to figure out how much kambucha he drank given the reported numbers is foolish. I think breathalyzers can also be horribly inaccurate depending on how much alcohol is in your mouth vs the blood.

Lots of people are also unaware that kambucha contains alcohol, as its trace amounts and doesn’t require a liquor license to sell, nor id to buy.

But yeah, my wager is that Floyd doesn’t see the field as a Viking this year based on the current information. He’ll either be suspended for more than 4 games, at which point it’s pointless to pay him, or the Vikings will just cut him because this incident will have been his last chance to have earned the required trust.

He can make whatever defense he wants to make to the courts but my gut and everyone’s gut feeling is he broke the probation. He drank alcohol and it was not a faulty test by the breathalyzer. The Vikings don’t have to give him innocence until proven guilty. They don’t have that burden. They need to cut him now and sign Decker. Now is the time.

I don’t think that most people know kombucha has alcohol in it. Most parents certainly don’t. It’s not enough to do anything to an adult, but to a small teenager? I still can’t figure out how it is legal to sell this to minors.

I had no idea it did…of course I dont know that I had ever heard of the stuff,  or if I did it sounded like shit so I didnt pay attention.

I think we need to take a wait and see approach.  He didnt fail any blood tests as some like to say,  he didnt skip multiple tests as have been claimed.  he reportedly had 1 failed test and missed one additional test. ( although it would be pretty damning if that missed test was immediately following his failed test as I heard this morning)  He had been clean for hundreds of previous tests and with less than 1 week remaining on his house arrest he stumbled?  I know it happens,  but with millions on the line ( and also jail time) its really hard to believe he made it that far and then faltered.  these instruments can be fooled,  these instruments can go out of calibration,  could be a number of things that many are taking for granted.

Playing devil’s advocate, huh?  😛

I’m not sure what you’ve heard, but in the initial report it said he had 3 consecutive failed tests in a short time frame and missed the fourth  shortly after the third failed test.

Obviously he’ll get a chance to explain himself to the court…  But it doesn’t look good.  If you’ve ever been around an alcoholic or a “recovering” alcoholic, you absolutely can be sober for a long length of time and relapse.  It happens all the time.  I wouldn’t put much stock into him being allegedly sober for 90+ days.

seeing how this is all based on a “TMZ” report…. I will wait and see what the facts are.  TMZ is a legit source,  but the overall facts are often skewed from what I recall reading from them.  I think there is some sort of story here,  maybe just not what we are being led to believe by the various story tellers.
